Security
Your keys belong to you. Not to us.
terminsuche.ch encrypts content and responses in your browser – before they reach our server. The server stores only unreadable data. This is called Zero-Knowledge.
How Zero-Knowledge works
- The key is created in the browser. When you create a poll, a random key is generated (AES-256-GCM, Web-Crypto-API).
- The key is in the link. It sits after the # sign. The browser never sends this part to a server.
- The server stores only ciphertext. Titles, dates, names and responses are stored encrypted on a server in Switzerland.
- Anyone with the link can read. The browser decrypts the data locally after you open the link.
Minimal data from the start
No cookies
Visitors do not receive any cookies from terminsuche.ch.
No tracking
No analytics or advertising services, no external scripts or fonts.
Server in Switzerland
Hosting with a Swiss provider. Data is irrevocably deleted after the chosen period.
No registration
Participants need neither an account nor an email address.
Protected admin link
The admin token is stored on the server only as a hash.
Open Source
The software is open source (GPL-2.0-or-later) and can be inspected.
Good to know
Links are access credentials. Anyone who has the complete link can read the content. Share links only with people who should have access – and the admin link with nobody.
Lost links cannot be recovered. Because we never see the key, we cannot retrieve it either. With an account you keep your admin links in one place.
You will find more about how we handle data in the privacy policy.
