General
What does terminsuche.ch cost?
Use is free – without registration and without advertising. An additional offering for teams and organisations is under construction.
Do I need an account?
No. Neither you nor the participants need an account or an email address. An account is optional and stores only your admin links.
What can I do with terminsuche.ch?
Create date polls, free-text votes, sign-up lists and questionnaires. You can see all the features on the Features page.
Which languages is the interface available in?
In German, Swiss German, French, Italian and English. You can switch at any time using the language menu at the top right.
Does it also work on a phone?
Yes. The pages are optimised for smartphones, tablets and large screens. With “Swap rows and columns” you can conveniently flip the table.
How many people can vote?
Each poll has an upper limit for votes that is sufficient for typical groups, clubs and teams. For very large polls, please let us know what you need via the feedback page.
Is terminsuche.ch a Doodle or Nuudel alternative?
Yes. Propose dates, share the link, let people vote: free, no account and end-to-end encrypted. Read more: free Doodle alternative from Switzerland.
Privacy and security
Can the operator read my data?
No. Content and responses are encrypted in your browser (AES-256-GCM). The key is in the link after the # sign and is never sent to the server. Details under Security.
Where is the data stored?
Encrypted, on a server in Switzerland.
How long is the data stored?
You choose the retention period when creating the poll. After that, the poll and all responses are irrevocably deleted.
Are there cookies or tracking?
No. There are no cookies, no analytics or advertising services and no external scripts.
Is the software Open Source?
Yes, it is licensed under GPL-2.0-or-later.
How do I report abuse?
Write to kontakt@terminsuche.ch. Please do not pass on any admin links, but describe the problem instead.
Links and polls
What is the difference between the participant link and the admin link?
With the participant link, people can vote and see the results. The admin link is confidential: anyone who has it can edit or delete votes and close or delete the poll.
I have lost my link. What now?
Because we never see the key, we cannot recover links. Search your messages and emails for the link. In future, an account helps you keep all admin links in one place.
Can I change a poll afterwards?
You can edit or delete votes using the admin link. You can close or delete the poll itself. If you want to change dates or options, it is best to create a new poll.
How do I export the results?
In the poll view there is an “Excel export” button. The file is created directly in your browser and can be opened in Excel or LibreOffice.
What does “Binding Yes/No answer” mean?
Participants must then answer every option with Yes or No. “Maybe” or “Pending” is not available.
What is the difference between the list formats?
Date + text: several entries per date. Text + date: several dates per entry. Text only: free fields. Attendance (RSVP): registration for an event. More on the Sign-up lists page.
Account
What is an account for?
It stores your admin links for scheduling polls and surveys in encrypted form so that you don't lose them. Participants don't need one.
What is the difference between an account with and without email?
With email, you receive your recovery key by email and can reset your password via a link. Without email, you note down the recovery key yourself – the key never leaves your browser.
I have forgotten my password.
With email: open the link in the email and set a new password. Without email: use the recovery key you noted down at registration. Without a recovery key, recovery is not possible.
